LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A man was seriously injured after he was stabbed in a South Lubbock parking lot Saturday night.

Just after 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance near the Hibachi Express near 114th and Quaker Ave. Police found 41-year-old Juan Martinez with a stab wound. He was taken to UMC with serious injuries.

Investigators believe Martinez and 50-year-old Jorge Nunez got into a fight in the parking lot when Nunez stabbed Martinez. Police say Nunez was hurt during the incident and was also taken to UMC to treat his injuries. He was later cleared and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center.

Nunez is charged with aggravated assault. He’s held on an $80,000 bond.
